Is there any Prophesies concerning the war between Israel and Hamas?

Key Scripture: This message concerning the fate of Israel came from the Lord: This message is from the Lord, who stretched out the heavens, laid the foundations of the earth, and formed the human spirit. I will make Jerusalem like an intoxicating drink that makes the nearby nations stagger when they send their armies to besiege Jerusalem and Judah. On that day I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock. All the nations will gather against it to try to move it, but they will only hurt themselves. (Zechariah 12:1-3 NLT)

Fact: Jerusalem will be an immovable rock though all the nations gather against it.

God long ago spoke through the prophets and declared to the nation of Israel that they would be dispersed throughout the nations because of their sin and rebellion, but God also declared through the prophets that He would bring them back into the land and they would once again be a nation.

In 1948 Israel after almost 2000 years once again became a Nation. This miraculous prophecy would be a sign that the coming of Jesus Christ was near.

The return of Israel back to their land would also fulfill many other prophecies, and the war with Hamas is just one example.

The Bible tells us that just before the Second Coming of Jesus Christ that all the nations would turn against Israel, and that Jesus would intervene and rescue Israel when all hope would otherwise be lost.

The day after Israel became a nation in 1948, they were attacked by the surrounding Muslim nations, but God gave Israel a miraculous victory.

There have been many efforts from the surrounding nations to destroy Israel since this time as we are seeing in our own day with Hamas.

Almost all the nations of the world have turned against Israel, and eventually even the United States will turn against them, but God will fight for them.

The Key Scripture above is taken from Zechariah and it is speaking of the time of the end just before the Second Coming of Jesus. It says of the nations:

On that day I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock. All the nations will gather against it to try to move it, but they will only hurt themselves. (Zechariah 12:3)

This doesn’t mean that Israel will not have problems. We have seen around 1400 Israelis killed just recently in the Hamas attack, and they will suffer much greater than this. Just before the coming of Jesus two-thirds of its people will die. In Zechariah 13:8-9 God declares to Israel:

And it shall come to pass in all the land,” Says the Lord, “That two-thirds in it shall be cut off and die, but one-third shall be left in it: I will bring the one-third through the fire, will refine them as silver is refined, and test them as gold is tested. They will call on My name, and I will answer them. I will say, ‘This is My people’; and each one will say, ‘the Lord is my God.’”  (Zechariah 13:8-9)

Jesus Christ Himself will rescue them from the nations of the world.

Then the Lord will go out to fight against those nations, as he fought in times past. On that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem. (Zechariah 14:3-4)

There will be great mourning in Israel because they will see that Jesus, the one they crucified was their Messiah (Christ), yet the Lord will forgive them because of His great Grace!

And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn. (Zechariah 12:10)

So, to sum up the question. Yes, the war with Israel and Hamas is prophesied in that it is an example of the hostility and antisemitism towards Israel that God long ago said would take place just before the coming of their Messiah, Jesus Christ.
